Sanders County is located in Northwestern Montana,
bordering the west side of Idaho's Panhandle. The county was
established in 1905 and has approximately 10,000 residents. The
Clark Fork River runs the length of the county and supports 3
reservoirs which are open to the public.
The Cabinet Mountain Wilderness along with 3 National Forests are located within Sanders County. Glacier
National Park and Flathead Lake are also within close proximity. Our county seat, Thompson Falls, is
our largest community with Plains and Hot Springs following close behind. |
Our communities range in population from 531 to 1321. We offer a variety of businesses to fit your every day needs. And for those hard to find items, Missoula is located approximately 100 miles to the southeast and Spokane
is located about 165 miles southwest of Thompson Falls.
